Diesel Heater Error Codes E01–E11 Explained (E01–E10 Video Walkthrough)

A complete troubleshooting guide for Sunster smart diesel air heaters. Watch the per-code fix videos for E01–E10, then check the table for E11 (CO) safety actions.

Sunster Smart Models · 2026 (WiFi / 4G / Bluetooth)

All Sunster smart heaters use a Controller Unit (panel/keypad or LCD). The E01–E10 videos below demonstrate fixes on A2200B / A2209 as reference examples — the same fault logic also applies to other Sunster air heater models not listed individually here. The only exception is the S-DZ06 LCD Bluetooth controller, which uses its own code map and is not covered by these videos. E11 (CO) always follows the safety rules below.

E01–E11 Error Codes & Fixes (Quick Table)

Use this table to quickly identify the fault and the action required.

Code Fault Troubleshooting / Fix
E01 Startup Fail 1. Check if the fuel pump is working
2. Check if fuel line connections are clogged or blocked
E02 Fuel Empty / Flameout 1. Fuel tank is empty (refill fuel)
E03 Voltage Abnormal 1. Match supply to 12V/24V
2. 24V: >32V or <18V abnormal
3. 12V: >18V or <9V abnormal
4. Check main harness plug
E04 Outlet Air Sensor Abnormal 1. Check outlet temp sensor plug
2. Replace outlet temp sensor
E05 Inlet Air Sensor Abnormal 1. Mainboard fault — replace mainboard
E06 Fuel Pump Abnormal 1. Check pump plug
2. Check harness wires
3. Replace fuel pump
E07 Fan / Blower Abnormal 1. Fan blades stuck?
2. Fan plug loose?
3. Replace fan
4. Check Hall magnet
5. Replace mainboard if needed
E08 Glow Plug / Igniter Abnormal 1. Check glow plug plug
2. Replace glow plug
3. Replace mainboard if needed
E09 Overheat Protection 1. Clear air inlet obstruction
2. Clear air outlet obstruction
E10 Overheat Sensor Abnormal 1. Check temp sensor plug
2. Replace sensor
3. Replace mainboard if needed
E11 CO (Carbon Monoxide) Overlimit 1. CO exceeded — ventilate & evacuate immediately

Important Safety & Installation Notes

CO Safety (E11): If you see E11, the environment has dangerous CO levels. Open windows/doors, turn off the heater, and evacuate. Never run a diesel heater in a sealed sleeping area without external exhaust and a CO alarm.

Electrical Safety (E03): Verify battery health and wiring gauge. Poor 12V/24V connections cause repeated faults — use a multimeter to confirm.

Airflow (E09): Overheat usually means intake or exhaust pipe is blocked. Keep combustion air clean and the outlet duct clear.

Need parts or a replacement? If troubleshooting points to a mainboard, fan, glow plug or fuel pump failure, use genuine Sunster replacement parts to keep your heater running safely.
