Q1: Is it safe to run a diesel heater while sleeping?

Yes. Our heaters use a sealed combustion chamber — outside air is drawn in for combustion and all exhaust gases are expelled through a dedicated exhaust pipe outside the vehicle. The air you breathe inside the cabin never mixes with combustion byproducts. The heat exchanger physically separates the two airflows.

Q2: What size diesel heater do I need?

2 kW → small vans, truck cabs, cabins up to ~4–6 m vehicle length
5 kW → most RVs, campervans, boat cabins up to ~20 m² (215 sq ft)
8 kW / coolant heater → large trucks, heavy equipment, or extreme cold below −20 °C
If your layout has multiple compartments or you need heat in two zones, choose a twin-outlet model.

Q3: Can I install it in a gasoline-powered vehicle?

Yes, but you'll need a separate small diesel tank — the heater cannot share your gasoline tank. If that's inconvenient, we also offer gasoline-version heaters that tap directly into your existing fuel system.

Q4: How much diesel does it use?

Fuel consumption depends on the heat setting:
Low output: ~0.10–0.20 L/hr (about 1 litre every 5–6 hours, consistent with Webasto-class 2 kW units)
Full output (8 kW): ~0.50 L/hr
An overnight session typically burns 1.5–3 litres — roughly $2–$5 at current diesel prices.

Q5: Will it drain my vehicle battery?

No. Startup draws 8–10 A for a few minutes, then the running draw drops to under 2 A — about the same as a small light bulb. A standard 100 Ah lithium battery can run the heater for 40+ hours without recharging. We recommend a 15 A fuse near the power source and 1.5 mm² wire for 12 V systems.

Q6: What fuel can I use?

Use high-grade diesel only. Do NOT use biodiesel or kerosene — they cause carbon buildup and can damage the combustion chamber.

Q7: Can I use it at high altitude?

Yes. Our heaters feature automatic altitude compensation up to 3,000–5,500 m (depending on model). The ECU automatically adjusts the air/fuel ratio — no manual tuning required. Without compensation, high altitude causes incomplete combustion and elevated CO, which is why this feature matters.
